New school opens

  The Vladivostok News

A new school opened in a Primorye village on December 21, a rare event amid regional financial hardships and salary delays for teachers.

Students in a tiny village of Molchanovka will even have a computer classroom.

Primorye Governor Yevgeny Nazdratenko has credited himself with providing much care to public education, and he was even praised by Russia's education minister. In the past six years, which were mostly economically depressive, a total of seven schools were built in the region and two more were planned to open by the end of this year.
