Six die of tick disease Six people have died of tick-born encephalitis in Primorye this year, krai health officials report. Deaths occurred in Spassk, Vladivostok, Artem, Kavalerovo, and Lesozavodsk. The krai sanitary center said 69 people have been diagnosed with the disease this year, and all have been hospitalized. Doctors expect an increase in infections by the end of the month, when temperatures rise. Last year, 29 people died of tick-born encephalitis.
