Business group names five officers

The Vladivostok News

The Vladivostok International Business Association – a new group of English-speaking businessmen in the city – recently announced its officers.

The association was formed last month to “create a more favorable business environment in the Russian Far East, starting in Vladivostok, in order to promote investment in and economic growth and cooperation in the region,” according to its mission statement.

The group will aim its efforts at infrastructure development, influencing public policy, attracting more companies to the area and engaging in community service.

Links, Ltd. General Director Andrew Wilson was elected president, with Dmitry Motovilov of Price Waterhouse and Bank of America’s Richard Wortley as dual vice presidents.

Valeriya Tikhonova of PortInvest will be secretary, and Moore Stephens’ Matthew Yaquinto was elected as treasurer.

Meetings are conducted monthly, and all English-speaking members of the Vladivostok business community may attend.
