Doctors charged with accepting bribes

Two Vladivostok doctors recently broke the law by taking bribes, the Frunzensky District Prosecutor’s Office alleged. A trauma doctor identified as F. allegedly asked for a bribe from a woman who was eligible to get a disability certificate. He demanded $1,000 to get her case through to a Medical and Labor Expert Commission — the certificate issuing body, police said. On receiving an advance of $500, F. paid $400 to the chairman of the commission, identified as K., to arrange the proper documents, which she did, prosecutors said.
