Captain missing from ship

Combined reports

Four vessels are seeking the captain who disappeared from a Russian fishing boat in Bering Sea south-east off Chukotka’s coast, news reports cited Vladivostok’s Marine Rescue Center as saying Thursday.

The captain of the Boguchar ship was determined missing by the crew Wednesday, when the vessel was 60 miles away from Chukotka’s village of Beringovsky.

The search for the captain is being performed by Boguchar and another three large fishing ships, the Center said. The temperature in the area is 8 C (46 F) while the water temperature is 5 C (41 F).

Boguchar is owned by a fishing farm in Primorye’s city of Nakhodka, which is the ship’s port of registry.
