Russian gold production drops

Russia reduced gold production 0.4% year-on-year in January-August to 101.7 tons, the Russian Gold Producers' Union said.

Mine output fell 1.3 percent year-on-year to 90.8 tons, with incidental production rising 13.7 percent to 7.9 tons and secondary production dropping by 5.5 percent to 2.8 tons, Interfax reported Tuesday.

Mine production grew most of all in the Krasnoyarsk territory and Yakutia, and the Sverdlovsk, Amur and Kamchatka regions. It continued to decrease in the Magadan and Irkutsk regions, Khabarovsk territory and the republic of Buryatia.
