Ten Primorye parties seeking seats in a local Duma on this Sunday’s voting have injected $2.7 million into their election campaign, yielding only to one of another eight Russian regions holding Duma elections this weekend.

Primorye’s administration has recently assigned 16 million rubles ($601,503) to start compilation of a feasibility study for a projected bridge across the Golden Horn Bay to connect Vladivostok with the Island of Russky.

Environment Vladivostok coastal waters remain contaminated

The recent check of Vladivostok’s coastal waters revealed that the city’s Zolotoy Rog Bay, Amursky Bay and the Bosfor Vostochny Strait are deeply contaminated with mercury and oil hydrocarbon posing a major threat the city’s environment.

Crime watch Official found shot dead

Nakhodka’s administration official in charge of the city’s architecture issues Oleg Shashelev was found dead in his apartment on Sunday, a suicide note and a gun were found on the scene, police said.

Environment Diesel oil leakage pollutes Chuguyevka

Some 3,000 tons of diesel oil leaked from a storage facility in the village of Chuguyevka, about 200 kilometers northeast from Vladivostok, on early Sunday. As of Wednesday 2,425 tons of the spilt grease have been collected by rescuer services.
