Cafe shooting injures people

Three people were injured in what is alleged to be settling of scores when unidentified people fired a bazooka rocket at a cafe in Vladivostok on Saturday, a press statement from Primorye’s Prosecutor’s Office said.

The incident occurred on the Kiyevskaya Street at 11:45 p.m. local time in a small Azeri-owned cafe named ‘Aristocrat’ when two men fired a rocket which broke through the cafe wall and flew by the visitors. In a few seconds, the attackers threw a grenade at the cafe’s back room injuring three people, including the cafe owner.

The injured were taken to a city hospital with multiple missile wounds. Their condition is being reported as satisfactory, the statement said.

According to investigators, the main crime motive being considered is settling scores between local rivaling Azeri criminal groups. No racial motives in the crime have been found, the statement said.

Primorye’s Prosecutor Office launched a criminal case. The preliminary investigation is being held by the Office’s Department of Special Investigations, the statement reported.
