November 02, 2006Primorye reports statistics Part IIAccording to statistics provided by the Finance Department of the regional administration, Primorye’s budget revenue for the first nine months of 2006 totaled 33.1 billion rubles ($1.2 billion), showing a 34 percent increase if compared to the same period last year. The budget expenditures accounted for 31.8 billion rubles, with the budget profit accounting to 1.3 billion rubles ($48.6 million).
According to statistics provided by the regional Department for Social Policy, a total of 1.479 billion ($55.3 million) was allocated from the federal budget to support various groups of Primorye residents. Overall, the total income of the region’s residents grew 25 percent, amounting to 150 billion rubles ($5.6 billion), statistics declared. This year the average monthly personal income was 8,257 rubles ($309) while monthly personal expenditures were calculated at 5,865 rubles. An average working salary accounted to 10,467 rubles ($391). In the past nine months of 2006, the regional prices growth index increased by 5.7 percent, which is lower than the same index last year. Statistics says the regional index is lower than anywhere in Russia. The price for food grew 5.5 percent, while prices for other goods increased 3.3 percent. In this year’s first eight months, 16,361 people came for permanent residence in Primorye, while 19,254 people left the region. Overall, the migration outflow hiked 12.7 percent as compared to the same period of 2005. As of the end of September, the labor force in Primorye totaled 1.06 million people, or over 52 percent of the region’s population, with 985,400 people employed in the economic sphere. The unemployed accounted to 74,200 people, with a general unemployment rate of 7 percent. A total of 15, 667 children were born in the first nine months of 2006 showing a 2.7 percent increase compared to the same period of 2005. 22,933 people died, the statistics said. For the first nine months of 2006, the number of registered crimes increased 38 percent compared to the same period last year and numbered 61,100 cases, with a third of those labeled as serious crimes, the statement said. 7,382 crimes considered ‘violent crimes’ were registered showing a 26 percent rise as compared to 2005. A total of 5,998 economic-related crimes were observed, indicating an 18 percent growth. The highest increase of 48 percent was observed in crimes related to drug-trafficking, with a total of 3,346 cases. The most common crimes were thefts, which showed a 37 percent rise compared to the same period in 2005.Overall, the police launched criminal proceedings against 16,000 people, the statistics said.
