A Russian cargo ship took in tow a N. Korean schooner which lost control and was drifting in the Sea of Japan, news agencies reported Friday.

Primorye’s Governor Sergei Darkin voiced his ambitious projections for creating a megapolitan area in southern Primorye and holding the 2012 APEC forum in Vladivostok to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the 14th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum held in the Vietnamese city of Hanoi on November 18-19.

Special reports Vladivostok firefighters protest parking jams

Vladivostok firefighters and rescuers on Monday staged a picket at the nine-storey building, where this January nine people were killed and over 20 injured in a severe fire, to protest against the city’s parking jams which impede their work when saving people’s lives.

Special reports Sky’s falling at construction site

A steel beam fell in dangerous proximity to a young man on Tuesday when he was passing by the construction site of the multi-level parking lot in downtown Vladivostok, opposite the building of the city’s administration. This has been the fourth incident which has occurred at the site since September. Luckily enough, the student did not receive any serious injuries.
