A frustratingly common sight for the city in winter, cars plow through an icy uncleared road in Vladivostok after heavy snowfall on January 6. “The city road services work round-the-clock removing snow and ice mounds from the major and minor roads,” a statement from Vladivostok administration cheerfully reported Tuesday. Meanwhile, motorists and pedestrians are suffering enormous traffic jams and trying to avoid accidents and injuries on slippery roads by the skin of their teeth, and daily serious accidents are reported in Vladivostok streets.
