Combined reports

Construction of more than 60 objects including a $177.4 million five-star hotel will start in the Khabarovsky region in 2007, the region’s governor Viktor Ishayev revealed on Thursday.

Construction of the state-of-the-art hotel at an estimated cost of 4.7 billion rubles will be launched this year in downtown Khabarovsk, Ishayev said. The hotel is planned to be used for holding international events and accommodating individual guests and delegations.

Besides hotel construction, building of medical institutions including heart surgery center in Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk is scheduled for this year, Ishayev said according to a press statement from his office.

Ishayev also noted that residential buildings to provide housing for more than 30,000 people will be constructed in new residential areas of Khabarovsk. He added that this project may take up to three years. “Construction of residential buildings will be started in both central and remote areas of Khabarovsk,” Ishayev pointed out.

Construction of a new gas pipeline to the towns of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur and Bychikha is also scheduled to start in 2007, Ishayev said, the statement reported.
