Business Vladivostok, Akita to expand shipping links

A new cargo shipping line will link the Far Eastern port of Vladivostok and the Japanese port of Akita, it was agreed by Vladivostok’s port management and officials from the Akita Prefecture on Thursday.

For the past three years, the number of registered drug users in Primorye has declined by 12 percent, the region’s Governor Sergei Darkin said voicing the statistics at his meeting with officials from the regional Police Department to Combat Drug Trafficking on Tuesday.

Crime watch Contract hit killers sentenced

On March 9 Primorye’s regional court sentenced two men to a 15-year and 13-year imprisonment respectively for organizing and performing a contract hit murder of Ussurisk Duma deputy and businessman Yuri Yemets in June of 2004.

The start of the expedition in Vladivostok on March 8.Six Russian participants started off to their worldwide trip named ‘Expedition Around the World’ from the city of Vladivostok on March 8, by flying their two orange-colored jeeps into air.
