Easter, the Sunday of the Resurrection, or ‘Paskha’ in the Russian language represents the major Russian religious celebration of the year. Easter in Russia is a lot more than a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is a long and powerful tradition that could not be eliminated even by the communists. Russians welcome Easter with special Easter bread called Paskha and colored Easter eggs.

Chukotka’s officials, guided by the region’s venerated governor Roman Abramovich, outlined the region’s business plan to Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov on Tuesday asking for a 106 billion ruble investment to turn the remote territory into a prospering area.

Crime watch Vladivostok Mayor convoyed to Khabarovsk

Vladivostok Mayor Vladimir Nikolayev, who was arrested early March facing charges of embezzlement and abuse of office, was convoyed to the isolation ward in the city of Khabarovsk from Vladivostok on Wednesday, prosecutors said.
