HIV-positive girl charged with reckless exposure

Combined reports

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Prosecutor’s Office filed a criminal case against a 17-year-old HIV-positive girl who admitted to having sexual contact with more than a hundred of the city’s men.

The under-age girl, whose name is not revealed, said she may have infected over 100 men confessing that she had engaged in intimate relations with them fully aware of her infection, officials from the Investigation Office in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky’s Department of Inner Affairs said.

So far, only four of her partners have been identified, with one of the men confirmed to be carrying the virus, Ria Novosti news agency reported. According to police officials, most of the girl’s interludes have been casual, such that the names of all men exposed are not known.

The girl, who refused to give any motive for her actions, may face up to an eight-year imprisonment.
