Women drivers start engines

Combined reports

Eighteen two-member female teams participated in Primorye’s traditional spring women’s car rally ‘Queen of the Highway’ held in Vladivostok March 31 displaying their auto skills and mastery.

Vladivostok’s Galina Zyabko and Irina Budoragina won the race which covered a distance of 150 kilometers, Prima Media news agency said.

The rally was organized by the city’s women’s auto club ‘Pravy Rul’ (Right Wheel) with the assistance of the Sports Committee for the regional administration.

The rally’s route stretched from Korabelnaya Naberezhnaya in downtown Vladivostok to Primorye’s Shkotovky County, with a program including several contests for the participants, such as snaking and auto soccer.

The competition did not require any special qualifications for participants or their cars, with the teams consisting of both the club’s regular members and newcomers, the reports said.

The rally has been held since 2002, giving women drivers from Primorye an excellent opportunity to test their steel.
