Primorye announces construction tender

The Primorye administration has issued a statement urging businesses to submit their proposals for construction within the city of Vladivostok and on the Island of Russky where the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is supposed to take place in 2012.

Primorye Governor Sergei Darkin signed documents announcing the tender for developing the concept of construction which should include both the upgrading of existing infrastructure and the erection of a number of new and sizeable structures, a statement from his office said Friday.

The Russian government plans to allocate 100 billion rubles ($3.8 billion) to prepare Vladivostok and the Russky Island for the summit. Private investment is supposed to draw in an additional 45 billion rubles.

The city-planning concept should include the reconstruction of the airport, the building of new highways, construction of a state-of-the-art conference hall, an international business center, as well as hotels and other structures, the statement said.
