The Vladivostok News

Vladivostok traffic policemen on Wednesday stopped a truck entering the city with 19,000 bottles of tainted vodka.

According to the travel documents, the cargo departed from Vladikavkaz, northern Caucasus, but vodka bottles had labels saying they had been produced in Ussurisk, at the local liquor plant Ussurisky Balsam.

According to the documents, the truck driver was carrying 950 boxes of vodka containing about 19,000 bottles. However, during the inspection policemen revealed more boxes not mentioned in the documents.

The owners of the detained cargo arrived to the scene and attempted to negotiate with the police officers, Primorye Television reported. The truck was impounded and an investigation was launched into the case.
