Young captains cast anchor in Vladivostok

The Vladivostok News

The second international festival of marine colleges and universities called ‘Young Captains of the World Ocean’ opens in Vladivostok on Wednesday on the city’s central square with an honor parade.

The festival’s participants arrived from Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok and Kamchatka while international guests include cadets from Dalian Marine University and Singapore Marine Academy.

The two-day festival will feature an intellectual contest on navigation as well as sporting competitions. The event will finish with a joint project of the street graffiti called ‘Wall of Friendship’ which will take place in downtown Vladivostok.

The organizers from the regional administration of Primorye believe that the festival will boost relations between cadets of different countries and cities and help them establish friendship ties.
