Naval officers and sailors from Admiral Panteleyev anti-submarine ship greeting residents of Preobrazhenye town where the ship arrived with a friendly visit early October. The ship crew maintains friendly relations with Preobrazhenye Base of Trawling Fleet whose workers welcomed the guests with flowers, presents and an extended program including concerts and sport competitions. The ship was open for excursions and local children took special interest in touring the vessel numerous times.
Some 10-15 years ago when the border with China was opened and the influx of traders from both sides – Russian and Chinese- increased tremendously, Russians looked down on their neighbors who were showing minimum of education and culture and wearing simple military clothes. Several years have passed and now many people admit and awe China’s booming development
