Internet date turns into murder

The Vladivostok News

A Khabarovsk court is to consider a murder case against a man who killed an internet acquaintance for profit, prosecutors said.

In September of 2007 a resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur placed an advertisement on the internet announcing his intention to meet a man for intimate dating, the Khabarovsk prosecutor’s office reported. He soon found a satisfying internet friend and invited him to his apartment. The latter, however, had criminal intentions rather than intimate plans and after arriving at the apartment, killed the victim and robbed the flat.

Khabarovsk police managed to detain the man suspected in committing the murder but did not reveal his name. He is awaiting trial to be held in the Khabarovsky regional court.
