Abusive teacher exposed

A criminal case was launched against a female boarding school teacher, suspected of abusing children in the settlement of Pivan, Khabarovsky region, prosecutors said.

The inspection revealed that Tatyana Kravtsiva, 54, for an extended period severely beat the children in her group of eight and nine year olds, denied them food as a form of punishment for bad conduct and locked them in a lumber-room.

The teacher may face a severe fine, community service or up to a three-year imprisonment, a press statement from the Khabarovsk Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The case of improper discharge on duty and child abuse has been launched by the Department for Inner Affairs of the region’s Komsomolsky County.
