Coal cars derail in Amur region

The Vladivostok News

Two train cars hauling coal have derailed in the Amur region paralyzing rail traffic in both directions along the Trans-Siberian railway in its Zabaikalsky branch.

The report of the incident was received at about 8 a.m. local time Thursday, the press service for the Far Eastern department of Emergency situations said.

Two of the 68 wagons derailed between the stations of Sgibnevo and Urusha in the Amur region halting traffic along this part of the Trans-Siberian railway in both directions. No injuries are reported.

The repair crews have arrived on the scene where they will have to lift the cars, clear the scattered coal and eliminate other defaults. As of now it is unclear when traffic may be resumed.
