Fish and bread cause kindergarten evacuation

The Vladivostok News

Young scholars at a kindergarten in Yakutsk were promptly evacuated on Thursday morning after the management found a suspicious-looking briefcase in one of the rooms.

“The kindergarten’s nurses found a strange looking leather briefcase and decided to immediately call the police,” a representative of Yakutia’s police Stanislav Platonov reported, Ria Novosti quoted him as saying.

While waiting for the police to arrive on the scene, the school’s administration rapidly evacuated the children from the premises.

Police searched the kindergarten with dogs and then inspected the briefcase. “The case did not contain any explosives, it had only food in it – some fish and bread and a pack of cigarettes. It is obvious now that it was accidentally left by one of the parents,” Platonov said. Police are performing necessary checks, he added.
