Rotten caviar confiscated

The Vladivostok News

Specialists from Russia’s agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor seized five tons of caviar with expired shelf-life in Vladivostok, a statement from Primorye’s Department of Rosselkhoznadzor reported Wednesday.

The batch of salty pink salmon caviar delivered to Primorye from Kamchatka was found during an inspection of the products checking for proper health guidelines.

The caviar is owned by the Primorye Company ‘Zolotoye Koltso’, the statement said.

An administrative case of the violation of sanitary standards has been launched. If the caviar fails to meet the necessary health regulations in terms of product quality and safety, the batch will be eliminated, the statement reported.
