Crime watch Bank manager steals 20 million rubles

The manager of the ‘Primorye’ bank branch in the town of Ussurisk faces charges on fraud and embezzlement of 20 million rubles ($833,000), prosecutors reported Thursday.

On Sunday Primorye’s anti-aircraft formations will organize a display on the city’s central square to demonstrate their equipment for Vladivostok residents and guests. The demonstration is organized to celebrate Anti-Aircraft Defense Day and will show an S-300-PM missile TEL (transporter erector launcher), a long-range missile system Granit, summer military equipment, radar stations and other equipment. The day’s festivities will also feature a performance by the brass band of the Pacific Fleet. Vladivostok residents and guests will also see a documentary on Primorye’s anti-aircraft forces shown on a large TV screen on the central square

He failed while we are obliged to succeed since there is no way back,” audit Chamber head Sergei Stepashin said at a meeting in Vladivostok on Tuesday analyzing the preparation works.

Only 6 of the 26 candidates who registered for participation in Vladivostok’s mayoral elections this May will be considered by the city’s election commission for approval to get onto the ballots. All of the rest were refused further consideration due to the absence of the entrance fee or its ‘incorrect submission.’

The head of the Alcohol Trade Licensing Department for the regional administration Leonid Beltyukov on April 3 was detained by police on charges of accepting a bribe. Two days later Beltyukov was placed under arrest.

Baby, woman killer gets 24 yearsOn April 4 the Primorsky regional court sentenced an Uzbekistan citizen to 24 years and nine months in prison for the brutal murder of a Vladivostok woman and her 10-month-old granddaughter which he committed in order to rob the apartment.
