Bank manager steals 20 million rubles

The manager of the ‘Primorye’ bank branch in the town of Ussurisk faces charges on fraud and embezzlement of 20 million rubles ($833,000), prosecutors reported Thursday.

Primorye’s prosecutors sent to court the case against Pavel Sergeichuk who committed six crimes classified as fraudulent actions in large volumes. Sergeichuk, 36, was appointed chief manager of the bank branch for the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank ‘Primorye’ in Ussurisk in July of 2001.

The investigation revealed that from 2003 to 2007 Sergeichuk, using his office position, misappropriated 20 million rubles from private bank accounts.

The Ussurisky court will consider the case against Sergeichuk in the near future.
