Phony bomb alarm fails to save from English

The Vladivostok News

A 14-year-old student at a Magadan school made a false bomb threat to police in order to help a female classmate avoid taking an English test.

The teenager called the police and reported that two suspiciously-looking men had entered the school carrying a big black bag. The police and school security guards spent about two hours examining the school rooms searching for explosives, the statement from the region’s Department of Inner Affairs reported Monday.

During the investigation which followed the call, the phony alarm initiator was identified. Interestingly enough, the teenager made his phone call to police in the presence of a second-grade student, who divulged all of the details to the officers.

Police reported that the teenager admitted his action claiming he had performed it to save a girl in his class from an English test scheduled for that day.

The teenager will likely be taken to a temporary detention center for the under-aged, while his parents will face an administrative punishment for the improper upbringing of their child, the statement said.
