The rector of Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES) Gennady Lazarev faces a criminal investigation on charges of interference and impediment with a court bailiff’s activities and his illegal temporary detainment on the university’s premises.

Primorye’s Department of Russia’s consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has tightened control over China-imported food entering Primorye markets, as a result of a mass intestinal virus infection in southeast China’s Anhui Province which has killed 28 children.

Rescue crews and police continue searching for three children who went missing in the Khabarovsk region on April 29, but as of Sunday the search operation has not brought any results, a statement from the regional police reported.
