Primorye businessman arrested in Kamchatka

The Vladivostok News

The director of a Primorye-based shipping company ‘VostokTransService’ Vladimir Rebikov was arrested on Wednesday in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on charges of illegal sales of fuel, border guards reported.

Kamchatka’s border guards and transportation prosecutor’s office launched an investigation against Rebikov after the border guards detained several ships connected with Rebikov’s company which were illegally refueling.

In February, Kamchatka’s border guards detained three ships in the Sea of Okhotsk – a tanker which illegally crossed the border and had fuel in the reservoirs instead of water declared in the ship’s documentation and two vessels waiting to be refueled from the tanker.

Rebikov is facing charges on “contraband organized by a group of people”. On Wednesday the court of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky issued an arrest-warrant for Rebikov for the period of the investigation and court hearings.
