Business Giant container terminal to be built in Zarubino

Russia’s Railways subsidiary TransContainer Company and freight company TransGroup AS signed an agreement on Wednesday at a business forum in Sochi to construct a container terminal in the port of Zarubino, in southern Primorye.

A bronze statue to shuttle traders, or chelnoks, to be mounted in the town of Blagoveshchensk, Amur region, on Saturday. The first in the Russian Far East monument to shuttle traders, Russia's first businessmen of the 1990s, will be unveiled in the city of Blagoveshchensk, Amur region, on Saturday.

Igor Pushkaryov United Russia candidate and Federation Council member Igor Pushkaryov on Sunday predictably won Vladivostok mayoral elections gathering 57 percent of the votes, though the voter turnout hardly reached 23 percent.

Crime watch China’s Vice Consul robbed in Khabarovsk

Three unidentified men attacked Chinese Vice Consul in the Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk on May 17 robbing him of 15,000 rubles ($625) and valuables.
